Dear Residents,
Recently the Chesterfield Homeowner's Association Board requested the reestablishment of the Architectural Standards Committee. The purpose of the committee as set forth in the association governance documents is:
The Architectural Committee was established for the protection of each and every homeowner. When you purchased your home, you were attracted to the home itself and to the community's appearance and its way of life. The architectural standards committees function is intended to protect your investment in your home and in the community. These Rules for the Committee's governance are intended to provide a framework within which each homeowner will maintain their home's exterior in a common fashion, and will protect each of us from discordant elements that may harm us either individually or collectively.
The committee of 8 members have been tasked with updating the original standards to maintain a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing appearance to our neighborhood, while researching new ideas and improve housing material options that will enhance our home values and minimize maintenance costs.
All 40 of our homeowners are equal members of this community, therefore the committee felt to properly address these standards, we needed to poll our residents to determine what their concerns, ideas and expectations might be and how we should proceed to address the issues most important to the majority of our neighbors.
This initial survey is the first step in the process. We will analyze the responses and consider the consensus among the community as well as ideas community members have. It may be reasonable to do a second survey if new information comes to light via this survey and we need to hone in on specific points. Finally, the residents will have the opportunity to vote on our recommendations before any new standards are adopted.
IMPORTANT: This is your chance as a homeowner with a vested interest in this community to inform this committee and guide the direction of the aesthetics and enforcement of our standards of the community as a group of 40 homeowners. Please note this topic may not come up again for this committee even in a decade or more. We eagerly desire feedback from as many homeowners as possible. Please take the time to fill out this short survey.
Thank you so much for your time and thoughts in helping our little community move forward.
